Juicy Does Barbie

I was at work, doing my daily read of all the blogs in the Sugar Network, when I stumbled upon a mention of Juicy Couture in LilSugar post. Apparently, Juicy is now selling their own version of Barbie dolls- except the dolls are modeled after Gela and Pam- the two founders and designers of Juicy. They are wearing classy couture outfits, complete with jewelry and heels. In true Juicy fashion (not saying it's a bad thing!), the dolls cost $110 for the set- a much higher price than the typical Barbie price of $16.99. The post on LilSugar was asking readers to vote on whether the dolls were "Kid Friendly" or "Are You Kidding?". Sadly, the results were heavily skewed towards the "Are You Kidding?" side, and I sort of have to agree. While I don't think these Barbie dolls were a bad idea- of course I like to say that Juicy never has bad ideas- I don't think they are being targeted towards the right audience. I don't think that any young children who play with dolls and Barbies would exactly be begging their parents to have these G & P figurines. However, I would imagine that die-hard buyers of Juicy Couture would love to have these as a collectible or a unique addition to their Juicy collection. As for me? Personally, I would rather take the $110 and put it towards this Fleece Peacoat!

I present to you, Gela and Pam in all their Barbie glory:

What do you think?

    Love them!
I'm 16, and I confess that I do own these dolls.
They were so adorable, I could not help it!
However, mine are older (3 or 4 years) and Gela comes in a pink velour hoodie and skirt, and Pam's is green.
